WTSherman, your problem with WAVX is

that you are looking for concrete evidence to support WAVX's current market valuation. You simply won't find it, because if that direct evidence existed then WAVX would have a market valuation several times higher.

You always have to be several steps of ahead of the beat to make any money on Wall Street. Otherwise everyone would be rich. So you just have to accept some of the current premises stated by the other posters and hope that they do eventually occur.

But there are no guarantees about anything.

Thanks for the report from E3. Saw your picture at wave.com. Hope you enjoyed and thanks again for the effort. Check out my last post today at RB on recent change in FED requirement on STBs.

Rem55--Thanks for the excellent post. Very informative, and very encouraging.

Of all the many "irons in the fire" that we've got going, the most intriguing to me is inTelecast. If we can partner with the networks (and it sounds like they're at least interested in talking), then God only knows how big this could be...

Thanks again.

REM~

Your recap of Sprague's address to WAVX investors at E3, was excellent. You identified and detailed both the forest and the trees, without drilling deep into the vernacular of techno-speak, which is a rare and highly prized IR skill.

This thread has become somewhat of a technocracy of late, which has it's place, no doubt, but we must also guard against becoming a forum that excludes, intimidates or otherwise discourages posting by the uninformed, or those with questions. Such forums descend into obnocracy. I'm not supporting or defending bashing either. But the valuable thing about nay-sayers, is that they point out weaknesses. The common denominator, at the risk of offending Communists <g> and purists, is the profit motive.

Cheers,

Wooly

REM55. Excellent recap. The explanation of how smartcards will work with EMBASSY I found absolutely fascinating. All of the research I have read indicates that smartcards will be ubiquitous within 5 years. Of course Atmel and Wave will begin shipments Q1 2000 with Sun on board via Wave and Microsoft on board via Atmel.

"How does smartcard technology affect us? Smartcards are point solutions for specific services...everyone (the financial institutions)wants their own brand. EMBASSY emulates each card on its platform and allows one to choose or switch between services at home."

As for Global Wave, what I understand is that although Global Wave is 75% owned by ITG, Wave still has the opportunity to offer services to PC's in Europe and Wave will also get 25% of revenues through services offered through Global Wave. In essence ITG is a distribution partner through Global Wave, though they will only service those customers with whom they have an ISP relationship. Am I correct?

Regards,

Sophie
