Market Size.

Well, first you take 90% of all the police forces in the country, 90% of all the TV stations and radio stations with traffic reports, 90% of hospitals, 90% of big corporations, and 90% of all the other places where traditional helicopters are used.

Add in small entrepreneurs who will set up air taxi service from most downtowns to the airport. Add in oil prospectors, plus the delivery and re-supply of oil rigs. Add in sight-seeing the Grand Canyon and other tourist traps. Add in the curious and the wealthy.

If GNBA can produce enough to meet these needs, then the price may fall to the point where an upper middle class family could buy one. Considering myself in that category, several of my friends are pilots and own their own planes. I expect the gyroplane to be easier to fly, cost less to buy, and cost less to operate. I don't expect a to see a sky full of gyroplanes (ala the Jetsons), but I would look for a lot of uses within a 100 mile radius or so. I doubt the gyroplane will be used much for long trips. A lot of the cost will also depend on how air worthy they are in IFR conditions, and whether the extra instrumentation is built in. A VFR only model would be much cheaper to build and to buy.
