SOMEWHAT O.T.

I have recently seen an advert for Sega's new game machine which has internet access and CE inside logo.

The start of another revenue stream?

Holding EMC for the next few years should be profitable, IMO.

Regards,

John

I'm sure glad he isn't here to defend himself.

Hey, I will be wearing that in New York on the 26th, with a white, two foot long, Ostrich Feather in the hat to complete the outfit. Same "Hat" look as Jim Carey in Mask. It was, of course, Jim Cary's hat from the movie. I was warned that I would be mugged if I wore it on the street in New York, but, when I walked 46th street in it last November, I was greeted with shouts of approval and "high fived" by the very types that were supposed to mug me! (I turned down an offer to become a Pimp, I guess it really is the "Superfly" look.) : 0 )

Moore's comment about Q being a "Royalty Play" now was interesting. We will have, of course a fantastic royalty stream coming in. How much money will come off royalties, Vs hardware, software systems, and other products depends on how well the company can execute. Being a Gorilla is no guarantee. Look at Intuit. Great "Gorilla" product, bad execution, dog stock. I know, I lost money on this one early in my investing career.

These are very smart people. When my son-in-law went to work for them 7 years ago, he was as sharp a EE as you will run into. But, I remember he still had to go through one hell of a learning curve to get up to speed on to what they are doing. He moved into upper middle management, and they are now sponsoring him though Law school so that he can be a Patent Attorney with them. You can imagine how important the Patent Department is to Q!

This last week pretty well destroyed the idea that we have a major partner in China. I don't believe the WTO will be signed this year with them now. The Kosovo incident helped the "hard-liners" there, and the organized demonstrations are probably meant to help defuse any demonstrations during the upcoming anniversary of Tenemen Square.

(I don't mean to start a political discussion, as happened on the Q thread last weekend, I am only interested in how it will affect the stock! But I guess we will all have to become Asian specialists in Foreign Policy now, and be able to read the Chinese tea leaves.)

The good news is that Q is going to do terrific numbers even without China. But, any threats of cutoff of trade with us, and a lean to Europe on buying systems, will hurt the stock price.
