Granoloa - I believe that was the rumored arrangement when these rumors first started to circulate. But I heard the stickler was price. Now that IBM's stock price has been inflated the rumors are back.

Of course nothing will happen today.

How's the weather in SF? It's humid and overcast here.

Best

Mr. Lou signed a new 5 year employment contract with IBM last year I believe. So he will be around for a couple more years. However, as Jeffry so correctly pointed out, IBM will soon be on the verge of collapse and I think it will be a good bet that Lou will be begging Michael to ride in on his Texas stallion and save the day....

Sincerely,
John

DELL - IBM merger: From IBM's perspective, such a deal could work. IBM managed to do pretty well with Lotus, which was a very different culture and business model. But I have a hard time believing that even IBM could manage a $200B merger - I don't think anything like it has ever been attempted, and there are also serious regulatory questions.
