I have placed over 50 orders in 3 years with Amazon. They have the best customer service I have ever experienced. I will continue to buy from them-- even if the books are cheaper elsewhere -- because I believe in what they are doing. I am not alone.

e: Long-term AMZN users

I have never had any problems with AMZN. Have ordered over 30 times.
To the contrary, I am still angry at barnesandnoble.com

Obviously this is just one person's experience.

Tom,

My two cents worth. I have used BKS 20 times give or take with perfect service. On the other hand, my first and only order with AMZN was a book they said would ship in 24 hours and then two days later they emailed it was not available.

In addition, I am a video buff. AMZN only stocks the videos that are the best sellers. Anything not current takes many days for them to get it from a wholesaler. Reel.com seems to stock almost all the videos.

Obviously, this is only one person's experience. I need to get my wife to have a SI account:-)
