Rex,
<<In 2 years we will know SNDK as the company that makes MMC cards for mp3 players. Oh, and by the way, they make CF cards for digital cameras.>>

No, no, Rex, you're confused. SNDK is the company that makes MMC cards for portable phones. Must be some other company that makes them for mp3, maybe its that Sundisk company, name is pretty similar.<vbg>

Rex,

I didn't emphasize MMC in my report, so thanks for filling the gaps. I do own the Pontis mp3 player and like the idea of stacked MMC card slots. It seems that this is the standard. There is no reason to make a single MMC slot unless there is a real squeeze for real estate, such as the Smart Phone applications.

I am a CF fan for right now and see MMC as a very threatening standard to CF. Having said that, I am trying to focus on CF for the time being and then make the leap to MMC, although this chasm between the technologies is only arbitrarily imposed.

Please take a look at this review of the Cassiopeia E-100. There is a section near the bottom of the page outlining the need for CF as we all know.

Also, thanks Rex for the companionship and direction during my trip out to Sunnyvale. It is nice to have someone like you in the thick of things contributing to the thread and putting things into perspective for us "outsiders".
