new p.r due out...you are never allowed
to sell, this is the hotel california version..
i really am more confused each time one of them clarifies something
according to what i read from james is version..the cut
off date was the 17 but had to still own upon declaration of
dividend, accordin gto tap you can still be in...i think
i believe james is version, that if you own yesterday and
do not sell until it is declared you get tips..this would have
greatly reduced the shareholders able to get TIPS stock,i would think
with this operation that would be the plan...stay tuned for more confusion....but as always, keep buying..

My Schwab broker said that date of record is not realy used any more. It applied when most people had the certs in there posession, before the advent of electronic trades. It appears that you must hold before the x div date in order to be elligable. That is why I said it would be nice to know what the heck that date is. Do your own DD and please let me know if you think any of this is off base. Brokers are just human and prone to screw up from time to time. I hope I have good info because it would mean that I get the div. shares and I'm in TNRG very cheap at .40 to .45.

Hi Blake,

If you sell before the EX DATE(which is unknown at this time)
you will NOT rec the TIPS Div. If you sell now and re buy before
the EX DATE you Will be entitled to the TIPS dIV.The really
confusing part seems to be the Date of Record which is May 20.
The record date indicates who will get the div NOT who is
ENTITLED to the Div. That is determined by the EX Date. Therefore,
it is my understanding that if you buy before ex date you get
the TIPS div, if you buy on or after the ex date you DON'T get
the div. The EX date is the KEY date. I worked for a major
Investment firm for 14 years as the Operations Manager and this
is my understanding of how div's are paid.
T A P you are getting pd to PR this stk and I think everyone
would apprciate a clear explanation if I am wrong on who is and
who isn't entitled to the TIPS div.

Thanks

Tony
