I wish you luck, buddy! Good earnings and upbeat forward looking statement will (or should) help my ADPT, which is making me smile big today!

Dawg, re:"had a gut feeling on Dell's earnings..."

I know what you mean... sometimes you just have to take a chance.

Just a psychological commentary...

I have noticed I get more itchy to pull the trigger the more time passes and I have not made a successful trade. I think it comes from some expectation that I have of working 8+ hours a day and getting a paycheck at the end of the week. Trading for a living is a different rhythm and it is a psychological adjustment to sometimes not make anything, and maybe even lose money within a one or two month period.

It is hard to prevent oneself from identifying more strongly with the absence of income or loses in the short term as opposed to a more balanced identification that includes all of ones long term gains that have been made as well.

Good luck Dawg and hope you make a fortune!

Jon :)

Mr Dawg,

If I may, I should like to caution you here regarding your exceptional enthusiasm for holding DELL through earnings.

<Sometimes you have to take risk, it is the nature
of the business.>

A successful trader is aware of risk, which is built into the biz. This is different than unreasonable risk and cavalier action.

<I have had a gut feeling on Dell's earnings and I just can't
shake it.>

Sometimes wanting something badly gets confused with real intuition based on probabilities.

<With all that said, I have loaded up on Dell and I am holding
through earnings.>

You will be going against the odds and against verifiable experience. This doesn't mean that earnings and other factors wont be good. They probably will. However, they will be old news immediately upon release.

<This will either be a stupid move on my part are a very good
move .>

Could very well be a good move if the goal is a long term one. Tomorrow morning, you will either have a higher open or a lower one....best to have a plan you can easily live with no matter what the open.

Try to be less emotional.

I hope you take this as I intend it....as a thread friend and fellow trader.
