I bought INTA but I'm thinking of getting out.

It seems that most of the high flyers are "high concept" stocks -- ones that can be explained in a short sentence.

I don't think I'm being cynical when I say that the huge run in the net stocks has been due to buying by the general public. The pros just sit back in amazement and have to a large extent stayed away. It's the guy on the home PC that's buying and driving up prices of net stocks.

Remember when all the AOL people drove up the company that makes Zip drives? Well, I believe that's because all the AOL people could understand what a Zip drive was.

The day I made a conscious decision to stop being smart and start buying "stupid" stocks is the day I started making big money. I believe that most people are stupid. Look at how many people sign up for AOL, how many people buy food at McDonalds and don't consciously realize it's 3d rate garbage food.

So the days of investment pros making almost all of the big decisions are gone. Today the guy who just got back from McDonalds logs on to AOL and says, "Hmmmm, let's buy some stock."

These types don't have the time or skills to research what they buy. They just go with what they understand. AOL they understand. Amazon is the place that sells books -- they understand that. EBAY -- auctions! Even CMGI is easy to understand -- an incubator of internet companies. Wow! That CMGI is a little tricky to understand, but the average Joe can figure it out if he really, really tries.

But INTA? INTA? Is this a high concept stock? Can the average Joe understand this one?

I get the feeling you have to think too much to understand what INTA does.

I'm looking for stocks that can be understood by the typical person -- you know, the type who actually thought Titanic was a good movie. Is that type of person going to buy INTA?
