Richard Weiner, Director Mr. Weiner is
a Peabody-Award-winning television producer,
and the former Executive Vice-President and General
Manager of a major CBS television affiliate KGMB-TV in
Honolulu, Hawaii. A native of New York City, Mr. Weiner
graduated from Allegheny College, receiving a B.A. in
History and Political Science. He attended St. John's
University School of Law, beginning his career as an attorney
for the prominent New York firm of Cahill, Gordon &
Reindel. He served as Assistant Resident Counsel for
Paramount Television in Hollywood, and for 4 years prior to
that, served as an attorney for all the ABC owned radio and
television stations, and the ABC Radio Networks. From
1981 to 1986, he was Executive Vice-President of Lee
Productions, a television program production company,
producing many outstanding network and syndicated
programs including the Peabody Award-winning "Beyond the
Great Wall, Journey to the End of China", and NBC's "The
Most Beautiful Girl in the World Pageants" [co-produced with
Dick Clark]. Mr. Weiner also created and was Executive
Producer of the syndicated musical special "Christmas in
Hawaii" starring Jim Nabors, Carol Burnett, and Tom
Selleck. Prior to his television station and production work,
Mr. Weiner was a top Account Executive at KIQQ-FM(K100)
in Los Angeles, then owned by Drake-Chault Enterprises.
He is currently a member of the Producers Guild of America
and the Academy of Television, Arts, & Sciences.
