PMFJI, a newbie on this thread. I don't own Dell, have been watching from the sidelines with some interest, now that Dell has dropped from the mid 50s down, in after hours trading, to about 42, I am wondering whether it is time to jump in. The historic growth pattern is obviously strong, the PE is of course high but not outlandish (per Equity Digest, their PE is below the industry PE), from what I can see the business plan seems sound, cash is up significantly, and the analysts seem to have soured a bit (First Call mean recommendation is 2.1) which I find is often a good sign. From those who know the company, is this dip the time to jump in, or is it still not a good buy in the low 40s?

I am seeling some, albeit not at tomorrow's open, and will invest in another. I like CSCO more than DELL right now. I know about the PE argument. I am also lioghtening up on my INTC and buying some CNET.

4. Do Nothing

The only way I sell Dell is to IBM at $60+ and that ain't happening.IMHO

Dell will continue to grow into it's valuation level, which may mean that the price won't grow appreciably near term, but eventually the street will interpret it as a good buy and when it moves,it'll move fast.Maybe third quarter, fourth quarter or next year, but I'll be there 12 months from now and I'll be very happy.John
