Cisco's deal with www.portal.com rivals LU with Kenan Systems.

You need to go back and review what's going on with broadband access.

As for ATM, ATM will continue to live on for a long time and will continue to grow. LU and NN will do well there as well CSCO - although apparently not in the core...however...well notwithstanding the MCI Worldcom and Equant deals :-). CSCO appears to have a different strategy in the core...one which appears to be bearing fruit already. Change the playing field. Cisco now has multiple weapons...either compete head-on or shift the decision to POS...strong work in my estimation.

The point of my posts wasnt' to say POS will supplant ATM although over time I suppose that too could happen. My point was to demonstrate that CSCO's decision to terminate development on the TGX (ATM-IP switch) might have been a calculated strategic decision to shift the market. This goes back to my comment earlier about changing the playing field.
