Hi Frank

I personally dont feel like chasing this weeks MO stocks all over the market Il just wait till its DELLs turn again... could be tomorrow now that the SOBs have held it down to load their boats... look for those who did to pump it up with a good report tomorrow. its hard to find better numbers out there

<< I cannot understand how HWP can exceed estimates by 8 cents and Dell cannot beat theirs by even one cent. In this environment it makes shareholders and analyst nervous about the prospect for Dell going forward.>>

Frank: I'll tell you how HWP beat the numbers. The analysts thought the company was dying on the vine (they have missed estimates for SO MANY QTRS) and decided to be VERY REASONABLE with their hurdle rate. The estimates were SO LOW for HWP that IMO they could have hit the numbers without even trying. DELL has the opposite problem. The expectations have been in the statusphere -- everyone assumes DELL will beat the estimates. That was the case for many quarters. Now that DELL is a $20 Billion company it becomes more difficult. IMO, MSD and his team will quickly become very good at managing the expectations game. MSFT and CSCO are masters at this. MSD has to be very careful about what he says going into earnings. And I do believe that edamo is right. DELL needs to be proactive and speak up and articulate more about the metrics that they feel are significant. That will start tomorrow -- DELL's Vice Chairman is a speaker in NYC at a Merrill Lynch Hardware Program. It will be interesting to hear what Mort Topfer has to say. DELL will continue to be a successful growth company -- yet a more mature one.

Best Regards,

Scott

Frank,
Hi!!!

RE: What is it that you know from all your reading that Dell has to make it worth a long term hold. Appreciate you comments. Do you have investments other then Dell??

too much to write...but, the move the last two quarter is into areas where there is significant revenue growth...Kevin Rollins just implied this in a Fortune Magazine article two months ago...
Basically, I think Michael wants everything on the internet...or through the internet...
Just a vision...but, the partnering is huge...DELL can save companies a fortune...they have loyal contacts..loyal numbers...and this can be exploited into revenue growth in any number of areas...He has basically told us this in a round about way...other sources have also mentioned this to me...
E-commerce is where they are going...Mike Kwatinez talking on the conference call today..and Michael responding about Gigabuys being tied to all 19,000 current premier pages...envision those possibilities......and they have just begun with the premier pages.

Best, Kemble
