I am not an engineer but in MDS planning sectorizing is primarlily for the 1, 2 or 3 outbound transmit sites (e.g. mountain top(s) or tallest
downtown blds). a metro area requires for near ubiquitious LOS reach and cellularization will be to collect inbound requests every 8-10 miles
or so at transmit and receive hub sites. I don't consider CAMP &
Spike as competitors as CAMP, Conifer, and others are known for
quality receive antennas, downcoverters and now have only transverters on market. Spike which I again have not kept totally
current is not mainstream. At least one major telcom supplier is gearing up to enter market with new MDS home/office routers and upconverter gear but rumour has it is looking to one of known quality MDS receive concern to supply transverter. Guarentee FON & WCOM are aware of development and it will not be till summertime that this leading concern announces its line.
