Oh, go ahead, get smart!

The Monarch fascinates me with its longevity.

But I have never forgotten reading a short story about two very elderly people who fall in love. The woman voices concern at how short their love is obviously going to be. The man's response: A mayfly lives an entire lifetime in a day.

<< A dragonfly has a lifespan of twenty-four hours.>>

Edwarda: Ditto a mayfly.

Chuzzlewit: Nope. You forgot to include the larval and pupal forms.

Since when do dragonflies and mayflies have larval and pupal forms???
