Taylor: "Do you think potential investors should not be allowed to see discussion such as "What is the significance that the company is not running their refinery because they can buy asphalt cheaper than they can manufacture it?"

The issue with such statements as this is not "free speech". The issue is that of being reasonably honest in presentation.

Your statement, to be reasonably accurate, should bring out that ONLY during the low-sales season and ONLY at the present level of overall yearly sales of REGULAR asphalt does the refinery find it cheaper to buy from larger refineries. As it stands, your statement is very misleading.

The refinery continues, even in the low-sales season, to convert regular asphalt to polymerized asphalt, which has a higher margin. Further, the scale-up of the refinery operations has exceeded what was originally planned, and they should soon be able to produce regular asphalt efficiently even in the off-season. Shouldn't an investor be informed of all of these things - in proper perspective?
