JAG's posts have had a great deal more information in them over the last few days. I kind of like having someone from the other camp posting here. At least he/she came right out and said that they bought nvda (nothing on being long or short 3dfx, however).

I do agree that it would be good for JAG to post in the NVDA thread so we can get a good source of info going there. I like to know what the competition is doing.

nvidia has a very large P/E and many, many shares coming out of lock-up soon. 3dfx said that they're going to announce 3 of 5 top OEM wins in the high volume part of their lines. Voodoo3 has already used up a decent amount of the retail demand for a new card with their launch. Nvidia will be running the same risk that 3dfx did with the V2 launch, huge ititial orders to fill the boardmakers' demand, but Q2 is slow for retail and OEM.

If you look at 3dfx's record when they had a big lead last year, the stock tanked after much better than expected earnings were announced.
