I think that Qwest needs to make a decision.

What a quandry! Qwest has something that everybody wants! A huge fiber optic system that covers an enormous portion of the U.S.A. Broadband for everyone!....come and get it!....all you can eat!

If Qwest wished to wholesale their bullion....why buy L.C.I.? It seemed obvious from this purchase that Qwest wishes to retail their product to the public.

On the other hand Qwest has been selling dark fiber (unlit, unutilized fiber optic cabling) to their worthy competition for years and using the dollars to finance the construction of their own fiber optic network.

So....are we retailers??? or are we wholesalers??
Do we want the phone companies?
Do we wish to pursue the cable companies??
Do we want to sell voice??
Do we ally with ISP's....or online service providers???

I do see a lack of direction right now with Qwest....I can't believe that I just said that!...But the lack of direction is natural at this stage of growth. We are at the crossroads.

BUT..we must remember that Qwest is VERY young. Qwest's network will hopefully complete next month!! The stock has performed marvelously to put it mildly.

The many telecom mergers and alliances that have occurred recently should not shadow the fact that Qwest is about to have enough broadband to BLOW YOUR HEAD CLEAN OFF YOUR SHOULDERS! (and no blood either)

I do not know which direction Qwest will pursue with their treasure chest...but I have faith in Nacchio and I have faith in Anschutz to exceed my expectations. We have the building materials....now what should we build?

Go Qwest,

Jason

<< however when Qwest called USWEST trying to offer itself instead of Global Crossing, did this imply a lack of potential supportive customer base. >>

How do you know this happened?
