OK, Free, I have just finished reading your very loooooong post.

So what are you going to do? It sounds like you are going to hold, but you really aren't sure you want to, but you really aren't sure you want to sell, but your really aren't sure..........?

Hey, as the bard would say, "screw your courage to the sticking point", and make up your mind! :0)

What bothers me about this Motley Fool analysis is, by its own logic, they should have sold Cisco back in October when it was down in the 60s because they didn't "understand" Cisco then. They would have missed out on the doubling of their investment. It's silly for them to sell now because they still don't understand Cisco. IMO, they're impatient. They see Cisco wallowing around for a couple of months and get antsy. That's no reason to suddenly trigger a sell. A decision to sell on a lack of information is just as stupid as a decision to buy with a lack of information. Thankfully, I'm blissfully ignorant and long, and I intend to remain that way.

Doughboy.

On the Motley Fool sale:

They did not say it but I believe one reason that they sold CSCO is because the Boring portfolio is now meant to be a value portfolio. CSCO hardly qualifies as a value play. On the other hand, the Motley Fool is quite happy with CSCO in their rule-maker portfolio.

They (MF's) should have sold AOL. AOL is the antithesis of the internet and cannot maintain its hegemony in the
incipient world of fast and easy access. I doubt that it will have an enduring role.

But, then again, MF's LOVED Iomega and rode it all the
way down. Heck, they're still flogging that mule, are
they not?
