Judy,
The drop in the semis today may also be related to ETEC, which got smacked after releasing earnings.
Edit: I just checked the open interest in AMAT options and it looks like a price just below 60 would be where most contracts would expire worthless.

Judy, I basically agree with you, of course to the semi you should add XLNX, ALTR and even ATML and also SIII seems to have formed quite a base from which to make a run at their recent highs just above 9.
