<<Many there were stating that DVR (digital video recorders - the things that will consume
our beloved HDDs) will be tied to consumer acceptance of HDTV>>
This makes no sense to me. Perhaps they were saying that can tape VCRs which record digitally as opposed to analog are tied to consumer acceptance of HDTV? That would make sense. Otherwise, HDTV presents even more of the challenge to the disk drive VCR in terms of storing the duration of video necessary to make them useful. -Z
