George, very strange, as Murphy tells it Xoma called him to ask what was going on yesterday THEN he in turn broadcasts that Xoma called with that inquiry on the hotline.

With the current mania, some brokers are trying curb the margining. Most recent public sight of this was some brokers' announcements of their not allowing Internet stocks to be margined up to the normal value limits. I suspect the low-end stocks are in the same boat. Brokers are just unwilling to let someone margin on a new $5 stock, just to have the price fall and be forced to make a margin call. I believe this has its roots in last summer's sell-off. A lot of people got hurt as stocks tumbled.

You could look between the lines and read that brokers are uncomfortable with both current valuations and the amount of stock their customers/clients have on margin.

Historically, you should not be margined anytime between May 1 and Oct 31.

IMO, own due diligence, be sure to check your horoscope and consult Mrs. Roosevelt before making any investment decision (worked for Hillary), only buy stocks that go up, yada yada.
