My question, xcr600, relates to the March 15th 1999 announcement that in the future, investments like NETG would be reported as Operational Income, that is, if the value of the investment increased, the increase would become a part of the Earnings Per Share figure.

Did this policy begin after December 31, 1998, or before.. Does the annual report for 1998 say how the profit on the NETG investment was treated??

My concern is that if the NETG appreciation WAS reported in 1998, then the earnings per share in June could be significantly less than $10.00.

Your thoughts please..

I think I'm getting it now...

so if NETG is at $30.00 on June 30, 1999... and LPGL management wanted to value it at the full price.. the gain would be $13.25 times the 2.XX million shares LPGL owns, or $26 Million plus...

Nice gain.
