I did not say it was ok for Saddam to intervene, but he did hint at us 3 countem 3 times of his intentions, and perhaps mistakenly took our ambassadors "we don't care attitude" as a green light...Anyway , what I said was that Saddam was AOK in our books until he decided to get too big for his britches.... He did not get it straight that he could fight with who we wanted him to. Not who he wanted to... There is reason to believe the fact that he was intentionally led to believe he had a green light, so as to get us some of that Kuwaiti dough, which had become very very substantial....

My only problem with the Iraq war was that we didn't turn the Arabian peninsula into the 51st state. We could have built a lot of great theme parks out there.

I'm fairly certain that, with the proper politics, much of the world could have been absorbed into the US by now, with full voting rights.
