That's all that I was trying to say. I'm just not convinced that what might be is sufficient cause to start dropping bombs. I feel that the use of coercion on those who may, if left unchecked, become a threat or a problem, is one of the hallmarks of repression. As soon as a nation legitimizes attacking others because of what they might do, the marching of jackboots is not far off.

However, I do accept your interpretation of what would have been the world's reaction to our inaction.

Truly damned if we do and damned if we don't. But again, in this sort of situation, conscience should speak louder than criticism.

And I do recognize that part of my interpretation of this situation is based on the fact that I am doing my own sort of Monday-morning quarterbacking.

But still...
