Truedog... Of course the US isn't perfect. We're still a democracy that is evolving and meshing its diverse cultures into one nation dedicated not to patriotism based upon ethnic grounds, but the fact that we share one goal of individual rights and liberty and opportunity for all.

Sounds corny, but at the heart of this nation, that's what it basically adds up to, N'est Pas??

Autonomy will have to work in a manner similar to state and local gov'ts. After all, the US was originally a loose confederation of independent states who wanted to maintain the strength of their own sovereignty.

World gov't will just become one more layer of representative gov't dealing with then entire globe, not just one nation. And it will not be easy to achieve. In fact, it may only come as a result of a nasty conflict or confrontation between the large powers that threatens to destroy everyone.

Then maybe we'll say that the price of sovereignty may not worth paying when it equates to global economic and political disruptions and destruction.

Regards,

Ron
