Protege,

Thanks for sharing your life with the thread. Hearing of your unfortunate losses from buying non-reporting OTC stocks last year is encouragement to me to 'stick to my guns' with those that come around touting this stock or that. There are those here that have not learned their lesson as well as you have.

Glad to hear about the employment situation near you. . . perhaps when you have made a fortune by working your way up the ladder and working one or two jobs on the side as well [you ARE just 21. . you can handle it]. . .then you could reach a point where you have 'surplus' money [does that really exist?] that could be once again used to fund your investments. . . note I said investments and not gambles.

Forget the really risky plays. . . .if I was in your situation, I would be trying to find that one 'sure thing' rock solid NASDAQ that could one day make it big. I would throw a little money at PLCOP in hopes that the pfd catches up near its value. . .with any dough I still had in an account. . .then I'd play the best undervalued pick I could find and just wait it out.

You are getting quite an education in a number of ways. . . we have all paid dues to some extent and are learning daily. I am totally confident that your discipline in soaking up knowledge will be your best asset in helping you to make the big decisions that will assist you most long term. Much of what we learn here can be applied to other disciplines. Picking a job? Be sure to do your DD first. . .find out where your company has been and where it is headed. You'd be surprised how few DD their own company.

Anyway, we are all behind you in your quest. . .and will offer whatever wisdom is needed to navigate life's bumpy roads. There will be more accommodation for such discussion later in the year.

Best wises in all your endeavors.

Rande Is

Thanks for sharing.....You are a young guy, you have a full life
ahead of you,(believe me it goes quick) and are quick to realize that
there is more to this trading on line then just jumping in with some money on some stocks the that everyone is hyping. If I'm am correct, I
think I'm remember you from Tmex days,,, (I lost $$$ there too and
learned my lesson fast)..This online trading is work and a lot of it.
More work then an 8 to 5 job..Rande is here 7 days a week, I'm here 6 to 7 days any were from 4 to 8 hrs a days sometimes longer and have a
full time job also.I work late afternoons. Can you make dollars, you sure can, if you have the dollars to start with and
the experience you need to trade on line...beaten down...I've been there but came back...How?..With patience..Find that little stock
that you can afford to put some money into little by little.( you
might start here on this thread for one) Have patience even if it
take a year or so and get on with your life and don't be watching it
all the time...This is not your full time job. Get that degree...I
have 4 daughters and one will be graduating next year and I can't wait.
I had KANA 20,000 shares @ .30 and sold be cause I believe the hype
that it was a dog and it dropped to .17..Well it went to $4.00 and
is hanging around 1.50 now....another one is HAUP. Had that @ 4.00
and was glad to get out @ 6 because of hype of an other dog..
Others because they didn't move fast enough for me..Lost out on
those too. One thing I learned from Rande is to find a stock
with a story and have the guts to stick with it. (after doing as
much DD as you can with Phone calls, 10Qs, 10k investment pkg,
etc.)BUT most important, follow this thread..Many good people here
and we are always learning from each other......Randy I thank you
for that and all the time and energy you put into this thread to
make it what it is.....Best thread on SI..
Banchee
PS,,Thanks protege for your story. I sure other people can learn
from it.

Protege, you are not the only one who lost bunches on otc stocks -, i
was am (still bailing back up) in the same boat. I had joined an online stock club and had another site i followed at first all the "picks" made $, then they all evaporated to almost nothing. Soon after my husband was injured and has since had 2 surgurys last one 2 weeks ago and he is still disabled. The dr gave him bad news he will never be able to return to his previous line of work and is very depressed and searching within himself what to do with the rest of his life,I am in early 40ish and sole breadwinner for family. As a matter of fact i had 2 clients last week and missed out all the fun you guys had on thread last week but i just cant daytrade if i cant be home to watch. Anyway to top it all
off we "adopted" my daughter 7 1/2 years ago from crack parents(she used to scream all night and had been seriously abused and the father
had been in jail and never signed so now they are back and wanting $
which i am short of whew getting really off topic here. So now legal fees on top of med bills on top of pennystock losses. So age is not a
precursor we learn all thru life so hang tight. God will teach us thru
our losses and trials and if we let him we will come out stronger and wiser and better equipped to help others. I read this thread every day before i go to work when i get home and on days i can get home for lunch. I have made some back and know in time will get back to where i started, but will be a better person from learning the hard way. In being down the only wise way to reach is up and that to me has more than one meaning. God Bless Darline
