If a RAMBUS-Enabled Device(RED) will have greater capability than one that doesn't, and assuming there is software written that takes advantage of that technology, would it not be advantageous for a manufacturer to pay a royalty to the company that enabled that manufacturer to sell more of its RED's at a higher prices than non-RED's sell for at lower demand levels?

Depends on the increased demand for the more capable software and the increased margin made possible, doesn't it?

Am I missing something here?
