"thinking of selling a bit"

if you sell common and buy leaps on the same number of shares, won't you accelerate federal and state income tax?

also do you think selling june calls is a good idea with 'bloom off of the dell yellow rose'?

regards

<< own a lot of dell...thinking of selling a bit.....why? because of opportunity....look at the tremendous
leverage you can get with 0117.5 @23 or 0120 @ 21.5.......i'm normally not a leap call buyer, unless a special opportunity exists, this is about as special as it can get.....ideal if you intend to exercise>>>
Have exercised the Dell 2000 17 1/2 (pre-split) some time ago when the stock was higher but the leaps were higher also so outcome still was very positive. Am holding the 2001-30,32 1/2,37 1/2,40,45,60, and 70
so do not need many more.
But as you kindly point out the lower strikes are a great bargain today and would appreciate more in-line with the stock price and
thus could be more useful( in saleable profits) in the short term if desired.
