sam, I had the same experience... I put in a limit order at the ask at 82 and one half, no luck. Moved up an eighth, no luck. Waited......finally picked up a small order at market. Lots of games on any day, but the third Friday of the month is really weird. However, there is no doubt the visibility of Rambus is much improved, and we still don't know who the new members of the Cult are. I am intrigued by the speculation about Goldman coverage being initiated. If so, we can expect further accumulations for a week or ten days, and then the announcement around 6/1 (IMHO).
