State of the internet stocks:
+ large retracement from top
+ net infrastruture/acceptance taking shape
+ fortune 500's spining off net assets
- IPO frenzy diluting spec $ out among many issues
- flood of secondaries
- biz plans push earnings priority further out
- broadband rollout bogged down

conclusions:

The nets need to attract more spec $ to offset dilutive effect of IPO frenzy
The nets need momentum to attract spec $.
The nets need immediacy of earnings potential and or growth prospects to attract momentum
The nets must rely on growth potential as earnings are not forecasted short term.
Growth potential may lie is broadband rollout.

Things that might change the landscape:
- surprise growth of earnings from portals and or e commerce co's
- broadband rollout ramp up
