William, something to consider is the well-known VLNC insiders only have a minute portion of their overall net worth invested in the company. Additionally, the two biggest shareholders sold more than $40 million worth of VLNC stock in 1992-94 and their repurchases of stock last year were only a small fraction of the dollar amount of their earlier sales.

Additionally, something I have never understood is if the wealthy backers of VLNC were so certain of its success, why did they allow VLNC to risk unlimited dilution of their shares via two rounds of floorless financing in 1998? Why didn't they just lend VLNC the full amount they needed?

Could any of our "Road Warrior" members who have a newer P III notebook with CDR/DVD (mine is over 3 yrs old) with either Li ion or conventional battery speak to the issue of their experience with battery life while performing various tasks ( Word Processing to frequent access of the DVD). What is the current state of the art re battery longevity? Is it realistic to think of computer/battery combination with a battery life approaching 10 hours? What can we expect from the latest iteration of the Valence product?
