Pierre - I have never been to a Pristine seminar, so I can't speak directly to that.

In general, I'm fairly skeptical when it comes to these seminars. However, I do think it is possible that good information can be made available. My only experience of Pristine is from pristine.com. In so far as I can tell, there actually was a lot of good information in the educational section. Oliver Velez seems to at least have some working knowledge of the issues. A lot of the material was dated, as trading and the markets change quite rapidly. Perhaps the seminars are more up to date.

I can't endorse Pristine, but I certainly don't put it on the level of pure scams (like Robin Dayne). It is possible that you may derive some advantage from such a seminar, though you should carefully consider how much you are paying for information that while accurate, can often be had for free, if you just do some research on the web - and SI is not a bad place to start. In the end, remember - trading, especially daytrading is a very difficult thing. Most daytraders lose money. When Block went bust some time ago, investigators discovered that out of 68 traders, 67 lost money. A well known and successful trader who wrote a book (his name escapes me for the moment, but he's from Los Angeles), estimates that only 1 in 50 has what it takes to make money consistently daytrading. So, consider carefully what you want to do, and how much you want to pay.

Pierre,

Concerning Pristine, I have always wondered about Oliver's seminars. And I agree with Sir Francis' comments on the subject. Although I have never heard a single bad word about Pristine's offerings, I have only heard from a few who have followed him over the years.

Some time back I studied their website thoroughly and regularly listened to Oliver's daily market commentaries available there. It was clear to me that he knew what he was talking about and that he had a lot to offer. I would not put Pristine into the group of internet hucksters such as the likes of Wade Cook and Robin Dayne.

I believe that with a proper foundation in market dynamics and technical analysis, one could learn a lot from a Pristine seminar. However, as has been said here over and over, daytrading is extremely difficult and dangerous and Pristine offers one method of trading the market. There are many methods, of course, and each trader needs to find one that suits his own preferences, abilities, and objectives.

For someone who has not yet defined their own method and feels a need for a seminar, Pristine's would probably be one of the better. Good luck if you go there, and please give us your impressions on the seminar.

Bill
