About a month ago, I moved all my 401(k) into small caps and global funds. Mainly small caps. So far, has been a pretty good move, and am leaving it there for a while. Might move out in November or so, put in money markets, and wait for a Y2K emotional dip December/January. Just my humble opinion....

Monte,
I also went to a higher % of cash and I too worry about the inflation factor. I don't think it will take too much of an interest rate hike to send stock prices lower. But, I've been thinking that for at least a year or two now. Time will tell. My crystal ball tells me that a 10-15% correction followed by more decent appreciation. I want the cash to get in bigger after the correction. But remember, I'm still working every day so I must not be too much of a wiz kid in picking market trends.

Purely a suggestion as a possibility. One thing that seems to have cooled the market was the feds bias towards raising interest rates. One company that seems to be benefiting from that is a company that I follow and was invested in but needed the cash. ACAS is the symbol and they pay an 8+% dividend as well. There is plenty of info available on them and their website is an excellent resource. I would be happy to exchange thouhgts on the company after you do your DD(if you choose to) Do not want to influence your perspective. I am not currently invested in ACAS although I was in the past and am considering re-entry as soon as I can free up some $$ Would be very interested in your thoughts.
