Gee I've hit a nerve...mention lousy sound quality on a 350mhz Pentium on Ethernet with NT Service Pack 5 - is that the nerve?

Mention the myriad ways that physicists have of encoding sound into compressed states - MPeg3, fractals etc. all of which use off the shelf mathematics discovered 20 years or more ago - none of which can be controlled or patented by any one company, and all of which can be delivered and reassembled on the other end using the TCPIP protocol - which also isn't very mysterious - and you have a recipe for MAJOR competition - which is already materializing in the form of streamed Quicktime which I gather is superior to RealAudio and Video, and possibly others. So what makes RealNetworks the inevitable winner. The stock has already discounted the inevitability of this. So what makes it a buy? Show me the EARNINGS.
