BGR - (...I may be wrong, technology changes at the blink of an eye...>

You're underestimating the gains in productivity due to high technology. A Windows crash doesn't require a blink of any kind. -g-

We're talking at cross-purposes. I'm focusing on businesses, where broadband is here (though I'll be honest, 'net banking does me fine over a 28k at home, so perhaps I'm not so persnickety). Me, I'm waiting for cable rollout -- not so much for the speed, since I expect congestion, but because I'm tired of paying Pac Bell $30 a month just for an extra phone line. I guess this means I expect cable prices to come down a tad. Oh, and cheap server farms: I don't like the VM analogy, that's telcom/circuit centric. I expect software to do the administration painlessly to appear as economic pressures (how else to you scale and do failover without breaking the bank?) create a market for same. But who knows.. -mb
