ABS-Al Goldman, for whom I have great respect, just spoke favorably about ABS on the Nightly Business Report and suggested that "it looks like it has traced out a triple bottom."

Earning Plays: I save all of your earning plays and check out the quotes once a week then twice a week as the earning report quarter approaching.
One can detect the surge in volume and price. When this pattern is established one would investigate further for each case.

One can use the list as input to the database: to write a querry
on the database to question the estimates of the coming earnings of the quarter then we have a computerized scan. I am looking into this
option.

One should not always looking for a 10 point rise a day, but is looking for a consistant 8-15% per day like PAX and RIMM in the watchlist of today. A 10k on these TWO gives 16%, ie $1600/day is very reasonable for 5 hours of work.
