This is very positive. So what is this "K7-Viper"?

Re <<AMD is positioned to offer the PC market four processors for three general segments: the K6-2 for the basic PC, the K6-3 for the low-end desktop, the K7 for mainstream desktop, and the code named
K7-Viper for the high end desktop or workstations.>>

Charles,

Re: Prudential report

I think this report was dated 5/20 and helped the price action that day.

Asshok's report was today and poured cold water on the fact that good yields on small prototype lots did not mean that AMD would not have problems yielding. He implied that past history of failure implies that they are unlikely to suceed.

Regards,

Kash

Charles - RE: From JC's page

"We believe AMD has shipped already between 1K-2K K7s and is set to ship in excess of 40K for the second-quarter as a whole."

40K * $400 ASP (which is conservative because the PIII 500 sells for $458 and the 550 $747) = $16 Mil

How much do you think that will add to Q2's bottom line?

What are AMD's overall margins? 29%?
