Hard to know why Reiter deal changed, but it could be as simple as AXC realizing it did not need captive expertise in this area, and Reiter majority holders deciding they were happy to remain independent. Sometimes deals that look important at one point in time seem less so later on, and it can work out well for both parties to restructure. Could be something else going on, of course, but I never really did understand why they thought they would need Reiter to be captive long-term.
