Tom,

Thanks for the search....

We will catch it next time, I believe that it will re-surface again.

I am interested in a global trading capabilities from the point of view that such capabilities would make for smoother markets all around. I do not think we would get rid of the extreme gyrations, but they may be less violent.

Not that volatility is bad, on the contrary, that is when the most profitable opportunities exist.

While the freedom to move capital from country to country already exists for the most part, giving the same access to the individual (on a more direct access basis, such as a regular discount broker like Schwab), without any particular set up of accounts to achieve the same, would give the individual added options for a better standard of living in the long run, and in the process, making the politicians a little less relevant.... (with their false promises to provide security blankets, against questionable evils... mostly created by the same alarmist hens)

My interest is not altruistic at all... I have given up, for the time being, on the idea of investing outside of the US, (that does not mean there may be great opportunities)... but for me, the currency risk continues to get worse, in other words, I believe that the US Dollar, will remain for years to come as a strong currency, possibly, the strongest of them all.

An easier and direct access for individuals around the globe to the US markets, will, in my opinion, give additional demand on the best run US equities, pushing them higher. ("the usual suspects").

An added benefit, for those individuals is that it would shield them from the evils of politicians and their effect upon the applicable local currency/economy. (This is my open secret ambition, be rid of politicians.... well maybe by the year 2325...)

Finally, the exposure to other markets, as it is already taking place given the news you have posted, will facilitate the flow of information making investing in other countries a tad easier, this assumes disclosure of information similar to US standards... all from one source, and rather inexpensive, in the process, it would also expose smaller ventures to greater capital sources, (in all applicable markets).

I mean if the bb markets exists, wouldn't we we all be better off investing in less questionable "enterprises"... (I am bias against the bb's... sorry).

Perhaps a simplistic point of view... but one that continues to prove itself as time goes on lately, in spite of the continuous warning cries of some, that the bogey man is just around the corner...

I believe that unless price of commodities, begin to drastically increase, (particularly oil.... hmm, watch out...!), the current scenario is liable to continue for the foreseeable future.

I believe that giving access from the Latin American (local) investing public to the US markets is particularly interesting, given the large and growing segment of the US population that has Hispanic origins.... while the traffic is possible that would be two way... (i.e. from the US To LatAm.)... the majority would be the other way around.... by so doing, those involved would be protecting their assets, particularly against the ever (and continuous), risk of devaluation.

By the above, I mean direct access, and aggressive promotion by the exchanges into those segments. I realize that financial regulation (and reform), in the local markets would have to take place, and as we are witnessing, this appears to be happening.

The net result of all this (and my interest), is increased demand for US equities for the best run companies.... (so the party may continue...)

Uncle Al.... please behave yourself, don't 'crash' the party.
