As you know, I sold CPQ and DELL in Feb. I have ZERO shares. No core holding, nothing. I agree with your post. The problem with DELL is that I think it has turned the corner on it's hyper-growth cycle (until RMBS inside that is<g>) and there is still plenty of fat left in the stock price. It's going lower, imo.

It will take the next killer app to put pc's back on a tear. Don't look for it until Camino and RMBS.

Just on a personal note, I own DELL computers for my business and I would probably buy from them again, (have many times) but imo, there really is no differentiation to justify a higher price point for DELL. I frankly have been disappointed that I haven't seen more significant price cutting from DELL. I wrote on this thread months ago that I thought PIII would possibly be a dud, and I'm not about to pay a premium for a 'tween machine. I can wait for RMBS. There simply isn't enough performance enhancement in the PIII to motivate me to junk my Pentium machines.

You and I are totally on the same page as far as the internet peripheral "gadgets" are concerned. But otoh, why pay 2K for a computer that won't have the ability to run for example, video conferencing programs or voice activation.

Bottom line is I think the next 6 months will be dicey for DELL, unless they can pick up sales on the international front to make up for the deferred PC purchases that are the rule right now.
