Morgan,

With all due respect, sir, you are making a fool of yourself. Stop for a minute and turn your computer off before you spew out any more ignorance.

I usually am content to lurk, but your series of posts has brought me out of the shadows. And this last one, talking of war, is the most ridiculous yet. Congratulations.

But seriously how can you say this without even making an attempt to back up your bold caveat? Do you honestly believe that war is in the best interest of either nation? Far from it; such an event would be disastrous.

Meanwhile, current politics are nothing more than rhetoric. This is the mudslinging of ERICY v. QCOM on an international scale.

But in case anyone skipped Tom's post from earlier today, let me point out a few things. The Chinese embassy bombing has debatable motives. Was it pure incompetence at a multitude of levels, or a closely held secret involving hundreds of top US government and army officials? My intuition points to the former. While probably one of the only people reading this thread who has not lived through Nixon's ill advised foray into Cambodia, my guess is that the event will not be relived in our generation.

Furthermore, an analysis of the Chinese reaction certainly does not necessarily reveal such strong anti-US sentiment as may appear on the surface. Many here have already surrendered to the possibility that they are being driven more by government rhetoric than knowledge of the event. The Chinese government certainly does have more than adequate motives to mount such an information campaign. As Tom said this morning, they see US attack on the sovereign nation of Serbia (in defense of human rights) as an attack on China's woeful record, as witnesses by Tiananmen and Tibet. They also perhaps wished to divert attention away from the fast approaching 10th anniversary of Tiananmen.

Now the one thing that perhaps baffles me the most is the opinions of Mqurice. What happened to the New Paradigm, my friend? Certainly kids running off to shoot each other does not fit into this picture.

As for this, Morgan, I guess it is what really touched a nerve:

<<Take happy videos of your male kids and grandkids now. They're going to war in the next decade or two.>>

I most certainly will not be going to war, draft or otherwise. I suspect that this generation will not as eagerly be led to slaughter or participate in these silly games. As for going to war, I simply disagree. If you would like to give any coherent reasoning, without quoting Rush, I might add, I would be more than happy to take this debate further.
