Oh, I keep forgetting we don't live in a democracy, but a republic.
It's odd, but I don't remember ever getting a chance to make a choice on my representative based on his "views". The problem with a republic is that it is geared toward LCD decision making. Anyone closest to LCD will win an election and impose LCD laws. It is unlikely they'll get voted out because they pass one law I don't like and 1 law my neighbor doesn't like, because our votes will likely nullify.

I worked for Roger Ailes, and his genius in winning elections was based on the concept that you don't try to convince 51% of the people to vote for you, but the 5-6% who represent the swing vote...that is the only part of the population that matters.
So, basically, what he was saying (without saying it) is that less than 10% of the population really make the decisions on how this country is ruled.............................................
