But also, know that with that kind of leverage (more than 2:1; in excess of Reg T) you are not acting as a customer. By acting in the capacity of a "partner," "member," or anything other than a pure customer, it's likely that at least some of your capital would not be protected under SIPC in the event that the broker dealer fails. But, it seems that soon there will soon be rules that will specifically prohibit unregistered people from getting that kind of leverage. LPS5
