In my life I wrote more letters to Condressman, and such than I care
to count, and now feel like a fool for having even tried.
People live in the illusion that by writing them you can change
anything they don't already want changed, and if they do
pick up on something it's only because they see a way to get
some PR mileage out of it.
At 62 it's not my problem any more, you youngsters are the ones
who have to live with it, all I'm doing is tipping you off.

SS was a good deal, if they wouldn't have screwed it up & it wouldn't
cost near what you might think. I'm telling you they sacked it for
years and turn it into an entitlement program , which it was
never meant to be. There was nothing wrong with it except the
Insurance companies were scared shitless they may not get to
pull their scams, so they sent in stooges to be sure to
screw it up.
It was started when over 3/4ths the insurance companies in the
nation welched on their policies..and a few people felt we had
some responsibility to the working poor who actually built the
country. And to the Widows and orphans who were created by the
high risk jobs , while companies just twiddle their mustaches
and brought in new help as fast as they killed off a man
never blinking an eye and in most cases didn't even pay
funeral expenses.

You can't complain about the 'regressivity' of the tax unless you address the 'progressivity' in the payouts. The payouts are scaled in inverse proportion to how much you contributed.
