>>>Yes, the suit against CheckFree was not a good decision by Intuit management.

Well yea, but......the exclusives part of the contract made no sense for either Company...CKFR or INTU. You know....CheckFree we give you and exclusive on Quicken.com, and in exchange we won't accept e-bills from anybody else except you until.

That IMO is what was wrong....like saying we MR CONSUMER will only accept your e-bills delivered by CKFR....that's like the Post Office saying, "Sorry we don't accept Mail from Texas, Florida or California, you'll have to go to this post office to pick up that Mail" Removing the exclusivity on both parties frees them to make an inclusive delivery system.

So Intuits move points out to what CKFR will have to do eventually on a Yahoo! Site, or any other Portal for that matter, and that is accept e-bills/mail from TransPoint, Princeton ecomm etal. I expect some alliances here because of this settlement by CKFR with other e-bill Vendors.

Because think of it....what would e-mail be if excite.com people could only sent e-mail to excite.com people and aol.com folks only to aol.com folks....we'd all end up with 50 e-mail address and a chinese fire drill trying to track down our e-mails.

The settlement will change that....and Yahoo!.com will want to ultimately present the same billing vendors as Quicken.com can...so that means to me alliances to come with CKFR and the others.
