Ribman, that increase sure surprises me, I thought that the rally we had depleted some of the short interest, but apparently it just attracted additional shorts. I do not mind seeing the short position at such a high value, it might add to the "fires" later on, but I would like it to peak and start down, before too long, to get at least an indication that the "smart" shorts do not see any flaws in the picture that I am maintaining for RMBS.

re Increase in Short Interest

Just a thought. How much of the increase is due to selling against the box? If a lot of the short interest is merely shorting as protection against a down market you may not get any propulsion from covering action.
