Christopher: You've got a point. And I believe, if memory serves, that IBM laser "stuff" you reference was about holigraphic storage? Or was it that quantum storage "stuff", or the qui-bit(4 different potentials rather than just the 0 & 1's stuff)? Heh!

Bottom line? Yah, spinning storage will be around for a time. I guess I should have qualified it by saying that as it relates to MUSIC storage....well.....it shouldn't take long to be able to store a sufficient quantity of music in a solid state device such that said device will inevitably begin to shove the spinning products of CD's into extinction. Of course, this is merely my opinion. I could be wrong....but ultimately, the consumer will decide..
