Good Morning Edamo,

>>compaq...could be the greatest threat, if they get their act together...<<

I alread have been worried about Compaq. It seems to me that any rebound or positive results in Compaq may in fact have a negative impact on Dell. The irony is that the fall of Compaq was in part responsible for the fall with Dell. In contrast the rise in Compaq may continue the fall with Dell which sucks.

Frank

<<and look out for compaq...could be the greatest threat, if they get their act together...>>

edamo: I wouldn't count on this happening any time soon. CPQ still has cost structure problems, has lost some key employees, is still without a leader, AND SUFFERS FROM CHANNEL CONLICT.

No worries about CPQ here. IMO, they will not become "the next IBM." In fact, I feel that when DELL and IBM expand their alliance, CPQ's enterprise business will come under even more pressure..!!

Best Regards,

Scott
