the Euro debuted in a weak european economy, the Euro central bank then cut rates (a couple times if I recall correctly) thus weakening it substanitally. THAT does NOT engender confidence in a new currency. what's this e-tailer crap??? Yea, I guess that really hurt the US dollar and our economy when we were raising rates in the early 1980's, eh??
